The best 7 travel tips
Pack light. If you don’t need it, leave it at home. You can always get what's necessary if you're ready to make some room in your luggage. Make sure to pack a good pair of shoes. you'll be doing plenty of walking while you're away!
2. Bring clothes you care about.
You can never have enough clean laundry while traveling, and you won't want to show up to your destination wearing dirty clothing. Plan to bring things you know you'll wear often (and wash them before you leave). Pick outfits that work well under any weather conditions, and don't forget socks and underwear!
3. Don't bring everything.
Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs, gifts, snacks, and anything else you think you might need. That way, you'll have space to buy something special for someone back home once you arrive!
4. Be flexible.
It may seem obvious, but packing for your trip should start as soon as you book your flight. Find out what you'll need to do to prep for arrival and stick to your plan. Know how long you'll be gone and what you'll need to pack. You may not realize how much you'll require until you check your bags at the airport.
5. Check your medications.
Bring prescription drugs in their original containers, clearly labeled, and separate from others. If you're taking an oral medication, keep them in child-resistant packaging. Otherwise, carry the pills in your purse or wallet to avoid overloading pockets and purses.
6. Carry a first aid kit.
If you're traveling abroad, you'll likely visit hospitals or clinics, requiring you to carry medical supplies along with you. A basic first aid kit should include items like bandages, gauze pads, antibiotic ointment, tweezers and scissors, rubber gloves, a thermometer, aspirin, ibuprofen, pain relievers, antihistamines, acetaminophen/paracetamol, and even dental floss.
7. Keep a journal.
Keeping a written account of your travels will help you remember details you'd otherwise forget. And if you're planning on meeting friends while traveling, writing down where and when you're going to meet will give you time to prepare and stay organized.
